IT"S SHOW AND TELL FRIDAY

Today is Show and Tell Friday at Kellie's and I am going to give you a look at my kitchen walls.They are filled with treasures that I have found at garage sales, consignment shops ,and from friends.I love old vintage kitchen items so my wall are filled with just alot of things I love to look at.They have blue checked wall paper and the top boarder is gardening things. This sign I bought last weekend at a flea market store.I gave 2.00 for it.

I am a big coffee drinker and I just loved these plates with coffee cups on them.The shelve is two old pieces of wood that I put together to make an old looking shelf.I have dish clothes I love and will no use on the shelf,and mugs hanging wire baskets an kitchen angel that I got at a garage sale and another one there you can not see to good that I made.

Here we have vegie pictures,another kitchen angel I made,a flower picture coffee trivet a small coke tray.

I love to collect rolling pins,so my husband made me this holder to hang them in.I do use these when I make chicken and dumplins.Aprons,pot holders,small tin signs.Just alot of little goodies.

Cake pans,more tin signs, trivets,another doll I made,my cook book rack,clock.The pumpkin picture was a gift from a friend in Canada,she drew this picture and painted it for me at Thanksgiving.

BLOOMING TUESDAY

Today is Blooming Tuesday,I am just showing my African Violets and a plant I inherited from my daughter,Tree Philodendron Selloum ,it was starting to die at her house so she sent it to live with me.I have a Tree Philodendron Selloum planted in my yard,it gets really beautiful during the year all the way through late fall.In late fall it starts dying back.So when the weather warms up I will plant this one outside also. Tree Philodendron Selloum,this will be planted in the yard come warm weather

Today is Blooming Tuesday at MsGreen"thumb"Jeans I am just going to show blooms from last summer being I have no beautiful blooms as of yet this year.

CROCHET ITEMS I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON

I have been doing some crochet the last few weeks.Crochet is one of my favorite crafts to do.It is a very relaxing craft,I can do it while I watch t.v.,or just sit and crochet for hours.When I use to go on long truck trips with my husband I would crochet while we were traveling. My brother and sister in law are having their first grand baby in May,so I crochet this little blue baby blanket for the new baby.I have always crocheted blankets for the new babies in the family.While I was working on it my grands who all have a baby blanket have decided they all want a new one.They are wanting full size ones,so I guess I will be busy for awhile crocheting blankets.I really think they will make great birthday presents for them this year.This is the one I made for the new baby,it is crocheted with a single crochet ,and double crochet shell.It has a shell stitch border.

It measures 40x45 just the right size for a little one.

The pattern is called Cauliflower,it took 3 ,8ounce skeins of worsted weight yarn to make the blanket this size.

Now this is a blanket I am crocheting now for my 6 year old gran daughter.She is our little Diva,she likes pinks,purples,bright yellows,and lime green colors.I made her a comforter last summer with all these colors and when I found this yarn on a real sale(it was 4.29 a skein,I bought it foe .49 a skein) I had to buy it for her room.

The yarn is called Frosting,and the color is hot berries,crocheted it has a warm fuzzy look and feel about it.It is a little harder to crochet with than worsted weight yarn,but it makes up so beautiful. it is crocheted with double crochet stitch.It is done in v stitch,which is a double crochet chain one double crochet all done in the same stitch.Can not wait to finish it and see the completed afghan.It takes ten skeins of this yarn,there is 104 yards in each skein.I am going to crochet a pillow cover to match.

SHOW AND TELL

Today I am posting on somethings that my husband received of his father's after his mother passed away in June 2008.These are wonderful keepsakes to keep the memory of his father alive in his heart.We are so proud to have these items in our home for the children and grandchildren to see.It helps them know who their grandfather was. This is a picture of my father in law,it sits on the table in our front room.

Here is a Bible that was presented to my mother in law from the local VFW after the passing of my father in law.He was a war veteran.

It is a beautiful bible,this page is the presentation page.

It was given in this wonderful wooden and leather box.

This is my father in laws year book from the army,I never knew the made year books.It is just like a school year book.

Some of the pictures in the year book show them in training.

He was in the 5th Armored Division.

The year this book was created was in 1953.

Now ten honest things about me.

1.I am married to the most wonderful man there is,he is my second husband.I did not have a very good frist marriage,but now I have a husband that has me spoiled as is he.

2.I hate house work,I have to just make myself do the chores around here.

3.I love hummimg birds,I have feeders on my porch where they can just fly around us when we set outdoors.

4.I love having days where there is no one around but me,my time to do just what ever comes to mind or just nothing at all.

5.My best friend is my little sister.We can talk about anything,disagree about anything and not get mad at each other.She is 10 years younger than I am.

6.I love storms,I like watching the angry clouds move across the sky and the trees swaying in the winds.I would like to be a storm chaser.

7.I have 17 beautiful angels that call me MOMO.They are the rulers of my heart.

8.My older brother Frankie died 2 years ago,and I miss him so much.He was my big brother and now I have no big brother anymore.

9.I would love to go to Canada and meet Meg,a wonderful online friend I meet about 4 years ago.

10.I have a wonderful friend who is having a very bad time with health and family problems right now that I wish I could just make her smile and be HAPPY in life again.I really worry about her.
